The amino acid lysine is an important part of livestock feed. The process
water resulting from the production is concentrated, and lysine is recovered.
For this purpose, falling film evaporators with product circulation are used;
they are heated by thermal or mechanical vapor recompressors. The plants are
designed as multiple-effect plants. In most cases, a forced-circulation
evaporator is used as finisher.
